I recently had to pick up another order of Boge 510 cartomizers 2.0 ohm for some upcoming e-liquid reviews, and you know what that means: I have a new sample of Cloud Alchemist e-liquid to review. Today it’s going to be, an e-liquid called Festiva; with flavors of strawberry, cream, and shortcake. Once the vaping community began to gain a greater understanding of what was possible with bakery flavors, vendors began refining their skills in that category.
Flavor and Taste
While some of these flavors are relatively straightforward, focusing on the flavor of a breakfast-type pastry with a dash of cinnamon, some are a bit more complex, with layers of finely textured flavors. While Cloud Alchemist’s version is clearly one of the more complex variations, this juice keeps to the same guiding principal that I have found in all of their juices so far; less is more.
In that regard, this juice opens with a sweet, buttery pastry flavor that is strikingly similar to a soft, moist dough shortcake. The vanilla whipped cream is a light dusting, with a beautiful, mellow tone that nestles right into place with the pastry flavor making for an excellent pairing that replicates the genuine article quite well. The final flavor in the profile, something I hadn’t been expecting but was pleasantly surprised by company’s sweet flavor of the white creamy drizzled atop any self-respecting cinnamon bun. Without that element, the juice would be good, but with that small addition, the profile is made whole.
Device Longevity Vapor Production & Throat Hit
This one is not packed to the gills with flavor, but it’s not something I would necessarily refer to as subtle either. Each flavor is clearly defined and easily identifiable with a rich doughy mouthfeel and a very realistic, natural quality. I would venture to say that this would make a great all day vape for those with a sweet tooth and a penchant for baked goods. I kept this one just a shade over 9w or at 4.8v on a 2.5Ω atomizer which yielded the best flavor ratio, a moderate throat hit, and a plume of sweet bakery fresh vapor.
After spending a few days with Cloud Alchemists Festiva e-liquid, I find that it’s a little odd on the inhale. I’ve tried it at many different power levels between 3.7 and 6.0 volts on my ProVari, and I just can’t taste anything until I exhale the vapor. On the inhale, I get more of a non-specific sweetness. On the exhale though, I get a very nice strawberry flavor that somehow seems richer as I become accustomed to the flavor. The cream and shortcake flavors are way in the background, but they do give Festiva an overall flavor profile that’s more like a strawberry dessert than just strawberry.
One thing I especially like about Festiva is that, while it is sweet, it’s far less sweet than a lot of other dessert e-liquids. I feel like a person who loves strawberries could easily vape this all day without risk of getting sick of it from too much lingering sweetness on the tongue. Festiva is a solid e-liquid that a lot of fruit lovers are going to enjoy. It’s going into my permanent premium e-liquids file for sure.
